About The Italian Ghillie

My name is Federica Bertolini, I arrived in Royal Deeside over 20 years ago from Italy but working in some great hotels I moved from Edinburgh to Rome and then Cornwall before returning to Braemar in 2015. I was lucky to be involved in the refurbishment and reopening of the Fife Arms Hotel in Braemar and now even luckier to spend my days sharing with visitors the rich heritage and beauty of this landscape. Being Italian, I always make sure that the day includes either a good picnic, a well-cooked lunch, maybe some foraged goodies; in essence, some memorable food!  We are blessed with fantastic but little known local produce in Aberdeenshire. Let me take you on this journey of discovery with me! (Basil, the black labrador will be there too)
